About the museum

  • The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum preserves the cultural and artistic heritage of Vietnam’s ethnic communities through research, collection, and preservation of historical artifacts. It also organizes cultural activities to educate, promote learning, and inspire curiosity about Vietnam’s fine arts history.

  • The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum website serves as a digital gateway to one of the nation’s most important cultural institutions, offering a glimpse into Vietnam’s rich artistic heritage.

Why I redesign this website?

  1. The current design is outdated and no longer reflects the museum’s artistic identity.

  2. The information architecture is unclear and lacks logical organization, causing confusion for users.

  3. Online payment for admission and event tickets/exhibitions/workshops is currently unavailable.

Current Vietnam Fine Arts Museum website

Project challenges

  • Limited Access to Real Users: Difficulty gathering feedback from visitors reduced user insights.

  • Access to Content: Challenges in obtaining images and text hindered accurate representation.

  • No Real-World Testing: Lack of real-world testing limited assessment of the website’s performance.

Goals of this project

  1. Redesign the website with a modern design that better reflects the museum’s artistic identity.

  2. Improve the information architecture to ensure a clearer and more logical organization for users.

  3. Create a streamlined and user-friendly process for online ticket purchasing and payments.

Ideation: “How might we” technique

Due to time and project constraints, I decided to focus on the General Public & Visitor group. Therefore, the project will address the needs and pain points of this group.
